C12 – Emerald Green Treefrog Tunnel
Introduction

The endemic species in Taiwan, emerald green treefrog, was found earliest in Feitsui reservoir and named after its fresh green appearance. Its eyes are surrounded by a golden yellow iris and an outstanding eyeliner and looks like it is wearing a pair of glasses with a golden frame. The sound of croaking it makes is very cute. Emerald green treefrog is main distributed at the low-altitude broad-leaved forest in the mountains as well as reclamation areas for fruit farms, tea farms, and bamboo forests in Taipei, Yilan, and Taoyuan. The avoidance of using pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides will be helpful to conserve them, who are precious and rare. For example, the organic tea produced by Yulu Tea Farm at Datong Township, Yilan County contains the abundant layers, pure fragrance and sweetness that are essential for the top-ranked tea leaves but also take environmental ecology and species conservation into consideration with organic farming methods. They were awarded Emerald Frog Award and Gold Frog Award at the 2nd National Organic Tea TAGs Classification Assessment in 2021. They become the model for ecology of sustainable agriculture and protection of life.
